The Island Chef has listed each episode of the FoodandMusicIOW podcast, so you can read about each episode before listening to it.
The podcast is about the hospitality businesses here on the Isle of Wight! I started the podcast because I found so many amazing businesses here on the island. Great food and drink producers, chefs, cafes, pubs, bars, hotels, restaurants and so on. I have uncovered new businesses almost every month. People with unique talents and desire to produce product and services that are exciting and different!
I plan to talk to as many people as I can! I think each season there will be a combination of new and existing businesses that are interesting and have a fantastic story. I am excited at being able to talk to them and share their plans, business and why they do it, through the podcast!
The podcast is an idea I had been thinking about, but the focus on the Isle of Wight hospitality was the obvious area to cover because it is about food and drink! My favourite subject too. Speaking to producers and many others, I came to the opinion that the island is a “hotbed” for foodies! There are obvious well-known businesses, such as the Isle of Wight Tomatoes, the Garlic Farm, the Hut and a few more. But the recent Channel Five programme about the Isle of Wight highlighted that there are others we should know about. The podcast aims to do that for islanders and visitors alike.
